TV Review: Darlene Love’s Christmas Swan Song on David Letterman’s Late Show

An era ends as Darlene Love makes her final Christmas appearance on the legend’s late night talk show

We at Screaming Back at the Screen are HUGE fans of the GREAT talk show host, David Letterman. His late show is our preferred destination for late night viewing, laughter and musical guests and we try to watch as often as possible.

We’ve always looked forward to Darlene Love‘s annual performance of her yuletide classic, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). For almost 30 years, she has closed Letterman‘s show at the holiday season with a rocking performance of her signature seasonal tune on the Friday before Christmas.

TV Review: House of DVF

What do you get when you cross glorified interns, wrap dresses and an international fashion leader with a television crew?

Because we slave away over a hot keyboard all day and appreciate the value of any and all hard-earned coin, Screaming Back at the Screen particularly enjoys watching reality shows that feature people at work doing what a former co-worker of ours used to referred to as ‘G’ing the R’ (Generating the Revenue). Some of our favorites include Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles, Top Chef, The Property Brothers, Income Property and the various Project Runway offerings.

With that in mind, we decided to tune into House of DVF,  the Diane von Furstenberg offering that pits several wrap dress-wearing  young women against one another for an actual staff position as DVF Brand Ambassador for this powerhouse fashion empire.

An Appreciation: Joan Rivers

We at Screaming Back at the Screen love to laugh. Here at our headquarters, we try to do it as loudly and as often as possible. And our loudest, most obnoxious and annoying laughs are always prompted by our favorite kind of comedy: snarky, sarcastic, tasteless, politically incorrect and delivered with great timing and a huge punch. The Case Against 8: Marriage for everyone? Yes please!

case.8.logoThe opposition has nothing to stand on, the Gays win the day and California leads the country forward… again

Screaming Back at the Screen is a HUGE fan of marriage equality because we LOVE our tremendously enthusiastic gay fan base (ok… so it’s really just a couple of our gay friends but that’s a mere technicality).

Mad Men: To Groovy L.A. and beyond!

Mad Men takes the left coast by storm and L.A. finally gets her close-up

Screaming Back at the Screen has been a HUGE fan of Mad Men since its impressive debut in 2007. And the reasons are many: great writing, great acting, stunning attention to detail in regards to the period costumes, sets and props,  historical accuracy of the storylines, and of course, Jon Hamm is very hot and never ever bad to look at.
